This is really great information, I've seen things around town for donated cars but I didn't know that they were tax deductable as well. What constitutes someone in need of a car? I guess what I'm asking is, how's it determined who would get the car if you had one donated? I'd love to be able to help someone out this way and I'm old enough now that I don't drive anymore so it's perfect.

I think this is a great program. You mentioned all you need to donate a car is the title correct and they will have it towed away for you? My husband and I are getting a divorce because of his infidelity and I want to give his car away, the title is in both our names as an either/or and the lien has been released, can I give it away if that is the case?

How do they determine the amount they are going to give you on your right off? And how do they determine who they are going to donate the car to? If you have a car to donate and you have a friend that needs a car, instead of going through the program can you just donate it to him and still get the tax right off? This was a very interesting bit of news.

I understand this program because there is a legitimate need, just like donating clothes and food. But I have been traveling around the south east part of the country and they have what is called Boat Angel and it is a company that you can donate your boat to, why would you have a program like this other than to get that tax deduction?

This was a very interesting blog and you put a lot of helpful information in it as to how they determine the value and what they might give you for a deduction. This is really great and I hope that anybody reading this will take it to heart because you could seriously help someone out doing this as well. In today's economy this could be a life changer.
